SURINAME - Historic Inner City of Paramaribo

"Paramaribo is a former Dutch colonial town from the 17th and 18th centuries planted on the northern coast of tropical South America. The original and highly characteristic street plan of the historic centre remains intact. Its buildings illustrate the gradual fusion of Dutch architectural influence with traditional local techniques and materials." -http://whc.unesco.org

Yehey! I still received this card even the sender used my old address!
"This spot is a former officer house on the Fort Zeelandia Complex,
oldest part of Paramaribo", shares Cheryll.
Really sweet of you Cheryll for remembering me on your 5th year in postcrossing!
I wish you receive more beautiful cards and stamps to always brighten up your day!

Postcard 3

Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Paramaribo --- world's largest wooden Cathedral.
Thank you so much Cheryll for this wonderful postcard!
And for sharing lots of information about it!
Being a Roman Catholic also, I am happy that after 22 years of being closed to the public because of renovation, the public can now go inside again!
