ITALY - Portovenere, Cinque Terre, and the Islands (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto)

"The Ligurian coast between Cinque Terre and Portovenere is a cultural landscape of great scenic and cultural value. The layout and disposition of the small towns and the shaping of the surrounding landscape, overcoming the disadvantages of a steep, uneven terrain, encapsulate the continuous history of human settlement in this region over the past millennium." -http://whc.unesco.org

"I'm very happy to show you one of the 5 villages of Cinque Terre (meaning, "five lands").
They are all small villages on the rocky coast of East Liguria.
They are linked by a path called "Lovers' walk" ---
as you can imagine, it's a romantic place!

Thank you so much Marta for sharing with me this postcard with amazing view!

Note: The five villages are:
1. Monterosso al Mare
2. Vernazza
3. Corniglia
4. Manarola
5. Riomaggiore
