SRI LANKA - Ancient City of Polonnaruwa

"Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. It comprises, besides the Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas, the monumental ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century." -http://whc.unesco.org

Postcard 2

"Many ruins of ancient temples as well as Hindu temples
(that is rare in Anuradhapura period) can be found in here.
The 'watadage' or 'circle house' are built around Buddha statues.
They are simply shrine rooms.", shares Sachi.
Thank you so much for sharing with me this card! =)
